Welcome to The Flour Story

Baking has always been part of my life. I grew up watching my mother and grandmother create magic in the kitchen — Mom would prepare the dough, and Granny baked rusks and biscuits in an old coal stove oven. Those moments shaped who I am today.

After my parents married, Mom baked for our family, and I was always by her side, learning with every batch. She had a saying that I’ll never forget: “If you can read, you can bake.” It stayed with me, and it’s the heart behind every creation I make.

When Mom passed, the only thing I truly wanted were her recipe books. Most of her recipes start with 12 cups of flour — real, old-school baking meant for big families and even bigger love. Some didn’t even include oven temperature or baking time, because she just knew.

Sundays were sacred in our home. There was always a big cooked lunch, a homemade pudding, and fresh bread made especially for Dad. That smell of warm dough and sweet desserts still inspires me today.

Now, I continue the tradition — cooking hearty Sunday lunches, baking the desserts my husband loves, and keeping Mom’s legacy alive through every rusk, biscuit, and cake that comes out of my kitchen.
